Köyceğiz
Ride on the Köyceğiz Lake
The Köyceğiz Lake delta is fed by this water. The lake tour descends to the shore on horseback: two hours, four and a half kilometers, forty-five minutes on the way, a stop with the horses entering the lake. It is different to go to the Sultaniye facility by boat, it is different to go to İztuzu. This is the quiet shore at the end of the path. There are no bushes, birds, or engines. The water is warm in summer, and the air is more crisp in winter — both are beautiful.

The step-by-step description of the route is available in the lake tour article here. The stream, the sandy opening, the green path, the stop, the return. The destination from both Köyceğiz and Dalyan is Çandır. When you see the lake on the map, it is natural to ask, “Where are the horses on the lake?” The answer is the end of the path that leads from the farm. Not the facility, the pier, or the mud area.
If we were to choose, we would set this tour for an hour when the sun is not at its highest. Hat, water, comfortable trousers. Take photos at the stop, there is no hurry. The note by Gursan for birdwatchers is available on Google; those looking for a safari pace find something else. Both are understandable. Whichever one you are looking for, let’s talk in the summer.
