After Kaunos, onto the horses

After touring Kaunos, it’s not far to get on the horses. Climbing down the theater stairs and going straight to the two-hour-long lake can be a bit exhausting; the stones, the sun, then the horses. The legs are already tired, the water is low, and the hat is sweaty. That day the ride is intense, the next day the lake seems more pleasant. “Since we’re here, let’s do both,” is the understandable conclusion — but the enthusiasm on the field fades a bit.

See the tombs in the morning, the necropolis in the afternoon, another day by boat — or the necropolis in the morning, a short walk in the afternoon. The opening hours and tickets are the necropolis' own business; the passage to the farm is separate, a short walk.

If you ask us, cover the heat with a shade and some water, and then make your decision. If you’re still hesitant, take a short ride. If you’re tired, come back the next morning. The horses are there, they’re not going anywhere. That “right now” rush is the least appropriate thing about this place.
