Çandır, het dorp aan de overkant van de rivier. Dalyan ligt aan de andere kant. De oversteek is smal, de wandeling kort. Er zijn paarden hier; Kaunos ligt wat verder naar het zuiden; de ochtendmaaltijd en Sultan Palas liggen ook hier. Het dorp is geen verre heuvel. Het is een dorp aan de kust. Ochtendmaaltijd, middag paardrijden, avond terug naar het dorp – of de hele dag hier blijven. Beide zijn mooi, beide hebben een ander tempo.

The sound of the river is still there. There are birds, sometimes roosters, sometimes a car. When you arrive at the farm, there is straw, a horse, a shadow. The hot spring comes from this side of the river; Kaunos is a little further along the same shore. When people ask, “What is there in the village?”, the answer is: life on the other side of the water, stones, a horse, a table.
