Riding a horse in Köyceğiz

In Köyceğiz, riding a horse means coming down to this part of the lake and the delta. Caunos Horses is in Çandır. There are lake and spa trails here. You leave the district hotel and take a short road towards Dalyan, then the canal – or the navigation – takes you directly to the farm. Those who want to ride a horse for the first time start in the manege; those who want to enjoy nature go to the lake.

The district is wide, the lake is calm, and the evenings are gentle. It’s nice to match the day to that calmness. Get up early in the morning and return before noon, or go to the market or the pier in the afternoon… or vice versa. If there are children, take a short boat ride, and the adults can stay on the lake – they talk to each other in the same farm, on the same day.

It’s different to go around the lake by boat and different to walk down to the beach. We say don’t put the two together in the same day; if you’re asked to choose, take the water from the boat and the silence from the beach. Sultaniye is a separate day, and the mud is separate.
