Horse riding in Köyceğiz

Those who want to ride horses along the shores of Lake Köyceğiz come to Çandır. It is not a long journey, about twenty kilometers from the center of the district, to head in the direction of Dalyan. The farm overlooks the village; after crossing the canal, it is three hundred meters. The tour of the lake begins with a path that leads from the farm: a stream, sand, a green path, and water on the deserted shore. The lake itself is a landscape; getting off the horse at that shore offers another perspective.

The Sultaniye boat is a separate day. There is a facility and mud there; our spa tour goes on horseback, and we descend to a more tranquil source. Those who stay in Köyceğiz ask about the time via text message; those who stay in Dalyan use the canal crossing. Both end up at the same gate. Going out in the morning and finishing the tour by noon, then having coffee by the lake in the afternoon… that rhythm suits those who stay in the district.

It’s different to go around the lake by boat and different to walk down to the shore. We say don’t put both on the same lunch menu, but if you’re asked to choose, we say: the water and the reeds from the boat, the silence and the body from the shore. The lake tour route tells the story. Sultaniye is the story of that thermal shore.
