Dalaman
Van Dalaman naar het paard
Those who stay in Dalaman and those who arrive at the airport all go to the same place: the opposite side of Dalyan, Çandır. The distance between the airport and the town is twenty-eight to thirty kilometers; depending on the traffic, it takes half an hour to an hour and a quarter. In summer, traffic can be a bit longer, but in winter it is less crowded. You don’t have to say “immediately” when you get off the terminal – your luggage, shower, and the next day are all more human.
Locking up the two-hour lake tour on the day of arrival can be exhausting. Flight delays, heat, hunger. A short farm road can fit into the afternoon of the same day; a long trail can last until the next morning. For us, the first night is in a town or villa, the second day in Çandır. The third day is in İztuzu. The order changes, no problem.
Those staying in the hotel in Dalaman can leave in the morning, finish the tour before noon and return. The distance is not that long. After the airport, the rhythm of that first day is a little more relaxed. We try to pick up those who come without a car from Dalyan; airport transfers are a separate matter, and the time of the horse tour is confirmed by message.
